And if life began at the age of eighty? Three zippy eighty-year-olds, Emiliano, Augustin and Benito, united by their passion for domino, are forced to embark on a lively journey to fulfill Pedro’s last desire. To keep their promise, they will have to take to the museum of the Mexican town of Guanajuato an old paper napkin with the first version of a famous song written by the famous José Alfredo Jiménez, the best Mexican composer of ranchera music of all time. “El Rey”, as he was known, had dedicated it to Pedro. After a last cigarette and a round of tequila, the group of old friends will seal this promise. Despite the age and reproaches of their families, the three cute old men will experience a series of adventurous and sometimes surrealistic vicissitudes that will restore enamel and brightness to their lives.
A precious film which makes people laugh and reflect without ever exaggerating situations: a story about the importance and beauty of human relationships, whatever their age.
